When you search for something online, you probably start on a search engine and you most probably use Google. The search engine will then bring up many results, often spread over several pages. These pages are called Search Engine Result Pages, or SERPs for short. However, if you’re like 99.99% of the world, you will never click on the second page of the SERPs and will opt to click on one of the top results from the first page.  

The reason you choose these first pages isn’t simply convenience. These pages have been ranked (or indexed) as the best results for your specific search term by the search engine. Google, for example, ranks these pages based on several factors and many of them remain undisclosed. Off-page SEO are the services that deal with the development and back end of a website which make it load quickly and function how it should, for instance. On-page SEO is the content you add to your website pages which can be optimised to contribute to better Google rankings. The most common SEO service in this branch is SEO content writing.  

SEO writing services includes content that incorporates SEO key phrases into the text strategically. These are generally the SEO key phrases that have been searched online the most in relation to your products, services and even location (local SEO). It’s widely understood that if you use similar language and words, then your pages become more relevant and can climb positions in the SERPs. It is a little more complicated than this though, hence, its best to engage the service of professionals. 

Can you do SEO yourself? 

It’s not impossible to execute SEO techniques and SEO work on your own, also known as DIY SEO. It would require hours of research before you get started though. However, just because it’s not impossible, it doesn’t mean you should.
