WEBPRO Creative is already a respected and successful web design agency, but we’re always on the lookout to get even better. Part of that process requires our team to stay on top of the latest design trends and offer these innovations to our own clients.
We are diligent in what trends we offer to ensure new designs don’t negatively impact other aspects of website design, most importantly the user experience. We prioritise new designs that add to the experience – not just designs that bring some aesthetic value. Micro animations
Micro animations are small and subtle movements to a website page. They’re not exactly an innovation within web design or design in general, but they have started making their way back. Even the smallest movements can bring a web page to life and spark a little more user engagement. Micro animations can be cleverly incorporated into website design to manipulate the user’s attention to a certain part of a page, possibly towards a statement, call to action or a website button.
Homepage embedded-videos
One way to make an impression on your homepage is to have an embedded video. The best homepage videos don’t just feature somewhere on the homepage - they are the homepage. A full-screen video is no doubt going to capture your user’s interest and attention. And it’s possible to place text and buttons on top of the video, so the video automatically plays in the background whenever a visitor land on the page.
To do this effectively you will need to use a high-quality video which has been edited by a professional videographer. If this is something that interests you, you’ll be pleased to know that WEBPRO Creative has in-house videographers who can work closely with our web designers for an all-inclusive and seamless design service.

Low-light design and dark-mode sites
Modern smartphones and a growing number of websites can now change to a darker mode in low light. Darker modes are used in low-light environments so digesting the information on the page is easier and more comfortable for the eye. This can be achieved by recognising user locations and real-time sunset times so dark mode can be automatically implemented at certain times of the day. The benefit of using a dark mode is that it improves the user experience and potentially keeps them on your website for longer, lowering your bounce rate.
If dark mode websites do become more popular in 2023 - which we anticipate – it could lead to an overall greater number of black and white website designs. This brings us to our next design trend of 2023…
Monochromatic web design
Monochromatic refers to colours that come from a single base hue, hence the word mono meaning one. Thus, monochromatic web design is when a website uses just one colour but different shades of the colour to create a design. The most common colours to do this are white and grey. Monochromatic web design is growing in popularity, arguably because of its clean and simplistic design that is non-confronting and welcomes users. Certain shades of the colour can be used to focus attention on specific aspects of the website, similarly to how micro animation can. Monochromatic designs can pair well with animation-style images.
Bright and bold web designs
On the other hand, there are still lots of clients wanting to be bold with their web design colour scheme by using bright colours that make a big first impression. Just because the design incorporates bright colours, it doesn’t mean it cannot be clean and simplistic. However, colour choice is key, including the number of colours used and how they interact with those of your existing branding and logo. The WEBPRO Creative team always help clients navigate these tricky decisions.
Recap: There are scores of new design trends that are expected to stick around for 2023. WEBPRO Creative only considers the best designs for clients that are centred on enhancing the user experience. In doing so, we ensure clients receive website design services that last, rather than a design that’s just a fad or doesn’t contribute to the wider aims of the site.
